The Ryder Cup, which is contested every two years, is without a doubt the most exciting competition in golf. Unfortunately, Ryder Cup odds have been sitting on the board for over a year following the tournament’s postponement in 2020.

Europe demolished the favored United States squad 17.5 to 10.5 in 2018, but do they remain the Ryder Cup favorite in 2021? We look at the full Ryder Cup betting odds below.

Favorite to win the 2021 Ryder Cup

The United States is the favorite to win the Ryder Cup with 3-way odds, currently on the board at -170, which should come as no surprise. The U.S. has seven of the Top-10 players in the World Golf Rankings, including Justin Thomas, Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, and Bryson DeChambeau.

Meanwhile, Rory McIlory and Jon Rahm are the top-ranked European golfers, and Team Europe comes in at +170.

Aiding the United States’ standing as the favorite is the location for the 2021 Ryder Cup. After 2018’s tournament at Le Golf National in Guyancourt, France, the event will also once again be on U.S. soil.

Where is the 2021 Ryder Cup taking place?

The 43rd edition of the Ryder Cup is scheduled to be contested in the United States from September 21-26, 2021, on the Straits course at Whistling Straits, Haven, WI. Whistling Straits is a 7,790 yard par-72 and hosted the PGA Championship in 2004, 2010, and 2015.

How to bet on Ryder Cup odds

There are several important things to note when it comes to outright Ryder Cup betting:

Teams compete for their share of 28 available points. To earn those points, teams must win matches. The Ryder Cup is comprised of 28 matches over three days. Days 1 and 2 consist of four foursome (alternate shot) matches and 4 fourball (better ball) matches. Day 3 has 12 singles matches. You earn one point for winning a match and a half-point for halving. A maximum of 18 holes is played for each match. You can bet on all of the individual matches as well!

There is a difference between the regular moneyline odds and the 3-way moneyline points odds. The regular moneyline odds are essentially just odds on who will lift the trophy. As the defending champions, Europe only needs to tie (14-14) to win here. Whereas the United States needs to earn 14.5 points to win. In 3-way betting,  you are also able to bet on the overall tie.
