Washington Nationals Fantasy Spin

Ryan Zimmerman slugged a pair of home runs in the Nationals’ defeat of the Marlins on Sunday. Zimmerman got to Marlins starter Trevor Richards in the fourth inning and added another dinger off reliever Tyler Kinley in the top of the ninth. The veteran first baseman finished the day 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. He’s still batting just .203/.304/.390 for the season.

Colorado Rockies Fantasy Spin

Charlie Blackmon went 3-for-4 with a walk and a triple in Sunday’s win over the Phillies. The triple, off Phillies starter Jerad Eickhoff in the fifth inning, was his second in as many days and his third of the year. The Phils being in town has given Blackmon life, as he hit .555 (10-for-18) with the two triples, two homers and four RBI in the four-game series. It’s been a welcome and overdue breakout for the 32-year-old, and after a slow start to the year he’s now hitting a much more representative .286/.340/.462 overall.

MLB Betting Trends

Washington

The Nationals are just 2-5 in their last seven games versus the Rockies.

Colorado

The Rockies have lost 20 of Tyler Anderson’s last 26 starts overall.

Prediction:

In the last eight meetings between these two teams at Coors Field, the over is 7-1. In the last five meetings between these two teams overall, the over is 4-1. The over is also 10-4-1 in Anderson’s last 15 starts and is a perfect 5-0 in his last five outings at Coors Field. Finally, the over is 9-4 in the Nats’ last 13 games versus a left-handed starter.

The Pick: Nationals/Rockies OVER 11
