Public Betting Trends

According to our MLB Public Betting Chart page, 73% of the betting tickets are on the Nationals to beat the Marlins on the moneyline.

Washington Nationals Fantasy Spin

Wilmer Difo went 2-for-3 with a homer and a walk against the Giants on Thursday. Difo has done decent work filling in for Trea Turner in Washington; he’s hitting .229/.315/.375 in 48 at-bats. The Nationals still don’t know when Turner is returning, so Difo might be manning shortstop for another month.

Miami Marlins Fantasy Spin

Jorge Alfaro went 2-for-4 as the Marlins were shut out by Cole Hamels and the Cubs on Wednesday. Alfaro was the only Marlin to get more than one knock in the contest. He struck out in his other two at-bats. Alfaro was acquired from the Phillies in the J.T. Realmuto trade this offseason and to this point has outplayed the more ballyhooed Realmuto across the board. Alfaro is slashing .326/.367/.522 with three home runs and six RBI in 14 games and is quickly developing into one of the best catchers to own in fantasy leagues.

MLB Betting Trends

Washington

The Nationals have won 21 of their last 27 meetings with the Marlins.

Miami

The Marlins are just 3-9 in their last 12 home games against the Nationals.

Prediction:

Sanchez isn’t a very good but he’s a fly-ball pitcher and fly balls play well at Marlins Park. You know what will also play well tonight for Sanchez? The fact that the Marlins strikeout at a 27% clip against right-handed pitching. Smith is quietly becoming underrated and if he can successfully navigate through Anthony Rendon and Ryan Zimmerman, I like the under tonight in Miami.

The Pick: Nationals/Marlins UNDER 7.5
