Mountaineers falter in second half

West Virginia lost by a score of 58-49 at home Wednesday night versus Kansas to drop to 18-6 overall and 6-5 in the Big 12 Conference. The Mountaineers were outscored 34-19 in the second half after leading by six at the break. Oscar Tshiebwe paced West Virginia with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting plus 4-of-4 at the free throw line. He also brought down nine rebounds. Jordan McCabe added 10 points and five boards.

Bears win 21st straight

Baylor downed host Texas 52-45 Monday night to improve to 22-1 overall and 11-0 in conference action. The Bears led 22-16 at the break and held on from there. MaCio Teague paced Baylor with 11 points on 3-of-11 shooting including 2-of-5 from 3-point range plus 3-of-4 at the charity stripe. He also pulled down eight rebounds. College Basketball Betting Trends

West Virginia

The road team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings. The Mountaineers are 3-2 ATS in the last five meetings.

Baylor

The Bears are 15-8 ATS overall this season. Baylor is 16-5 ATS in its last 21 Saturday games.

Prediction:

Baylor has been darn near invincible this season, winning every game since its second contest of the season. Considering that was a 67-64 loss on a neutral court against Washington, the Bears are very close to being unbeaten. The Bears’ offense has been a bit inconsistent as of late, but the defense has been a constant. Against a West Virginia squad that has also been nasty defensively, but has occasional offensive woes such as earlier this week I’d rather side with the hosts. Baylor has more preparation coming in and I like the hosts to clamp down on yet another opponent.
