Brooklyn Nets vs. Miami Heat, 3/2/19 Predictions & Odds

The Miami Heat have suffered some close losses of late but remain just outside a crowded playoff picture in the Eastern Conference. With their postseason dreams still alive, will the Heat post a straight up and ATS win over the visiting Nets tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET?

Game Snapshot

559 Brooklyn Nets at 560 Miami Heat

Our NBA Live Odds page pulls spreads and totals from multiple different online sportsbooks so you can compare betting odds to ensure you’re getting the best line.

Public Betting Trends

According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Heat are 4-point favorites to beat the Nets. The total, meanwhile, sits at 220.5 points and as of this writing, 52% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Heat to cover the point spread.

Brooklyn Nets Fantasy Spin

D’Angelo Russell scored 22 points on 9-of-24 from the field against the Hornets on Friday, adding nine assists and one 3-pointer. He did not have his jumper working today, making just 1-of-7 from deep. Russell was off to a slow start earlier this year because he was losing late minutes to Caris LeVert and Spencer Dinwiddie, but Russell is just playing better. His fantasy owners should only have a mild concern.

Miami Heat Fantasy Spin

Goran Dragic (calf) is questionable for Saturday against the Nets. He had right knee surgery back in January, so at least this isn’t to the same leg. Dragic had said he is feeling much better and he did play well in the last two games, scoring 27 points on Wednesday and 21 on Thursday. If he’s out, that’ll give more minutes to Justise Winslow, Dion Waiters and probably Rodney McGruder.

NBA Betting Trends

Brooklyn

The Nets are 13-3 against the spread in their last 16 road games when facing an opponent with a losing home record.

Miami

The Heat have failed to cover in 16 of their last 21 home games versus an opponent with a losing road record.

Prediction

The Nets have won four of their last five meetings with the Heat, but I don’t trust Brooklyn defensively right now. In back-to-back losses to the Wizards and Hornets, the Nets allowed an average of 124 points. With Brooklyn’s current lack of commitment on the defensive end, I’m going to back a Miami team and lay the 3.5 points despite the Heat posting a 3-7 record over their last 10 games. Plus, Brooklyn is 2-10 at the betting window in its last 12 games playing the second game of a back-to-back.

Saturday NBA Prediction: Miami Heat -3.5
