Flames falter in third period

Calgary lost by a score of 2-1 at Carolina Tuesday night to drop to 6-6-2 on the season. The Flames led 1-0 through two periods before allowing two goals over the final 11 minutes. Elias Lindholm gave Calgary a 1-0 advantage with 6:56 remaining in the first period on a goal assisted by Johnny Gaudreau and Travis Hamonic. That score held up until the hosts put two on the board in the third. David Rittich surrendered two goals on 28 shots in the defeat.

Predators win fourth straight

Nashville secured its fourth consecutive win Tuesday night by a score of 3-0 at home over Chicago. Pekka Rinne stopped all 20 shots sent his way in the shutout effort. Nick Bonino opened the scoring with 2:04 remaining in the first period on assists by Rocco Grimaldi and Craig Smith. Bonino scored again with 10:57 left in the second period to make it 2-0 with assists going to Grimaldi and Dante Fabbro. NHL Betting Trends

The Flames are 6-0 in their last six Thursday games. Calgary is 2-6 in its last eight games as a road underdog.

The Predators are 5-1 in their last six games as a home favorite. Nashville is 8-2 in its last 10 Thursday games.

Calgary does not quite look like the same team yet that ran through the regular season in 2018-19 to finish with the best record in the Western Conference. With how Nashville is playing right now and how tough it can be at home, I really like the hosts here as they have a deep team with strong defense and goaltending. Taking the Preds to take care of business tonight.
