A wild and wacky Champions League betting elimination round continues this week with three teams that lost the “home” leg of their two-game series looking to return the favor and advance to the Round of 8.

Sevilla, Barcelona and Leipzig all dropped decisions to “road” opponents, even though COVID-19 has prevented certain teams from actually hosting games. That strange development has put Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool on the verge of advancing, while FC Porto will look to knock off Juventus after winning the opening leg of their two-game elimination set.

Here are our top Champions League League betting plays for March 9-10:

Champions League predictions for March 9-10

Juventus v FC Porto

It must feel like deja vu for Juve fans, who have seen the Bianconeri drop the first leg in the opening round of the elimination stage for the second year in a row. The biggest difference between this year and last: this might represent Juventus’ best shot at a title, with the defending league champions presently third in the Serie A standings, seven points behind Inter Milan.

Juve, however, appear to have caught a break, with Porto losing both Pepe and Jesus Corona to injury in a 2-0 win over Gil Vicente in league action over the weekend. Both players were critical components of Porto’s 2-1 opening leg victory over Juventus, and the loss of one or both will be damaging to Porto’s chances of advancing.

We like Juventus to capitalize in a big way Tuesday.

PICK: Juventus -1 (+125)

Borussia Dortmund v Sevilla

Dortmund’s wild 3-2 win over Sevilla in the opening leg served as yet another entry on Erling Haaland’s already incredible resume. The 20-year-old scored twice to help Dortmund erase an early deficit and hold on for dear life to capture the away leg—and position themselves to come away with the series victory with a win, a draw or a one-goal loss in which Sevilla score three or fewer goals.

Don’t expect Dortmund to dial back the pressure, however, especially with one of the most dangerous young strikers in the world at their disposal. Haaland will look to put an exclamation point on Dortmund’s trip to the next round, and looked sensational last weekend with a two-goal effort in a 4-2 loss to powerhouse Bayern Munich. Another brace is very much in play here.

PICK: Erling Haaland 2+ Goals (+220)

Liverpool v RB Leipzig

Oh, Liverpool. If you’re looking for a truly frustrating team on which to wager, this is the one. The defending English Premier League Champions are now without a victory in their previous eight home matches following another uninspired effort in a 1-0 loss to Fulham over the weekend. This is the same team that went 68 straight matches without a home defeat from April 2017 to January 2021.

This Liverpool team somehow pulled out a 2-0 away win in the opening leg (which took place in Budapest, as will Wednesday’s second leg) and feels a lot like a boxer that is just looking to get to the final bell. Look for a lot of metaphorical clutching and grabbing as the “hosts” draw Leipzig into a low-offense game that comfortably comes in under the total.

PICK: Under 2.5 (+110)

Paris Saint-Germain v Barcelona

We hesitate to say any two-leg series is decided after one game, but it’s hard to see PSG yielding enough goals to let Barca back in this one. A comprehensive 4-1 drubbing in the opening contest has PSG riding high—and it gets better, with both Alessandro Florenzi and Neymar overcoming respective hamstring problems to participate in Sunday’s first-team training session.

Kylian Mbappe scored three times in the rout and looked like he could have had more. He’ll once again go toe-to-toe with Barca megastar Lionel Messi, who isn’t the world-beater of years past but is still capable of scoring in bunches. We recommend taking both players to score in what should be one of the more wide-open second legs of the Champions League knockout round.

PICK: Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi Anytime Goals (+315)
