Clippers vs. Nuggets Game 4, 9/9/20 NBA Playoffs Betting Predictions

The Clippers took a 2-1 series lead versus the Nuggets but failed to cover as an 8.5-point favorite in Game 3. Will they extend their series lead to 3-1 but also win at the betting window tonight when these two teams square off in Game 4 at 9:00 p.m. ET?

Game Snapshot

711 Los Angeles Clippers (-8) vs. 712 Denver Nuggets (+8); o/u 220.5

9:00 p.m. ET, Wednesday, September 9, 2020

NBA Playoffs Western Conference Semifinals Game 4

Los Angeles Clippers DFS

Paul George hit 12-of-18 shots, five 3-pointers and 3-of-3 free throws for 32 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals in 40 minutes to lead the Clippers to a 113-107 win over the Nuggets in Game 3 to take a 2-1 lead in the series. Kawhi Leonard played 42 minutes and had 23 points, 14 rebounds, six assists, two blocks and a 3-pointer and the Clippers went on a 21-6 run down the stretch to build a 111-103 lead and never looked back. The winner of Game 3 goes on to win the series 73 percent of the time but the Nuggets will try to even the series in Game 4 on Wednesday.

Denver Nuggets DFS Spin

Michael Porter Jr. hit 8-of-17 shots and two 3-pointers for 18 points, 10 rebounds, one assist and three steals in 23 minutes of Monday’s 113-107 Game 3 loss to the Clippers. The Nuggets are in a 2-1 hole but it was nice to see MPJ bounce back tonight. He had scored 11, 5, 10 and 2 points in each of his previous four games and he was finally able to get back in the mix and make a difference tonight. Hopefully the Nuggets will continue to lean on Porter and he’ll be an effective DFS play throughout the rest of the series. But until tonight, he had been really frustrating to use in fantasy over the last several games.

Clippers vs. Nuggets Game 4 Prediction

While the Clippers’ talent eventually took over in their Game 3 win, I’ve backed the Nuggets in every game in this series and nothing is swaying me from taking the points with Denver again tonight. They’re 2-1 against the spread in this conference semifinals matchup and are catching another 8 points tonight, so give me the dog. The key for Denver is that Nikola Jokic played very well in Game 3 despite being an early game-time decision with a wrist injury. He scored 32 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, dished out eight assists and finished with one steal on 13-of-24 shooting, so the wrist injury doesn’t appear to be too big of an issue. In fact, all five Nuggets’ starters scored in double figures and Porter Jr. came on in the second half. If Denver gets that sort of production again tonight, I’m confident the Nuggets will stay within the number.

NBA WESTERN CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS PREDICTION: DENVER NUGGETS +8
