Colts vs. Bears, 10/4/20 NFL Week 4 Betting Predictions

The Bears find themselves as a home dog despite being 3-0 on the season but will they suffer their first loss and also fail to cover when they host the Colts at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday?

NFL Week 4, Regular Season

Indianapolis Colts DFS Spin

Philip Rivers completed 17-of-21 passes for 217 yards and one score in Indianapolis’ Week 3 win over the Jets. Even Jacoby Brissett was afforded four pass attempts on Sunday as the Colts cruised to an easy win over New York behind three interceptions, two pick-sixes, two sacks and a safety. Rivers and Indianapolis’ starters were benched in the fourth quarter for the second consecutive game, ceding snaps (and production) to the team’s backups while leading by three scores. Week 4 against the Bears should offer a full game’s worth of stat-padding for all. Consider Rivers a fringe QB2 in a competitive matchup for that one

Chicago Bears DFS Spin

Bears coach Matt Nagy said Nick Foles will start for Week 4 against the Colts. This announcement was inevitable after the veteran replaced Mitchell Trubisky in the second half and led the Bears to a comeback victory over Atlanta. Nagy even stopped to clarify that Foles will be the starter for this week “and beyond.” The organization declined Trubisky’s fifth-year option for 2021 back in May and are undoubtedly done with that experiment altogether. Even with this decision now in the rearview mirror, Chicago’s selection of Trubisky with the No. 2 overall pick over Patrick Mahomes (No. 10) and Deshaun Watson (No. 12) in the 2017 draft will forever be remembered as one of the worst decisions in league history.

Colts vs. Bears Prediction

The Colts are 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games as a road favorite, are 1-3-1 against the umber in their last five games overall and are 0-3-1 at the betting window in their last four road games. The Bears, meanwhile, are 11-3-1 against the spread in their last 15 games as a home underdog, are 7-2-1 against the number in their last 10 home games versus a team with a winning road record and they’ve covered in four of their last five games when playing in Week 4 of the season.
