According to oddsmakers, the Angels are a -128 favorite to win on the moneyline. The Rangers are a +118 underdog, while the total is set at 11 runs. As of Wednesday afternoon, 62 percent of public bets are siding with host Texas. Check out our MLB Public Betting Page for the latest updates.

Angels win one for Skaggs

After the death of Skaggs one day earlier, Los Angeles somehow was able to go out and post a 9-4 victory Tuesday night at Texas. Jonathon Lucroy helped pace the Angels as he ended the game 1-for-4 with three RBIs. Kole Calhoun went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and two RBIs. David Fletcher was 1-for-4 with a double, two walks and three runs. Trevor Cahill picked up the win in relief as he gave up one earned run on one hit with no strikeouts and one walk over two innings. Griffin Canning gets the start tonight as he comes in with a 3-4 record, 3.79 ERA and 0.99 WHIP with 63 strikeouts over 61 1/3 innings.

DeShields homers in loss

Texas lost by a score of 9-4 Tuesday night at home versus a grieving Los Angeles team. Delino DeShields Jr. led the Rangers offense as he finished 2-for-4 with a solo home run. Nomar Mazara went 1-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI. Elvis Andrus was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. Peter Fairbanks took the loss in relief as he allowed three earned runs on two hits with two walks without recording an out. Ariel Jurado will start tonight for Texas as he comes in with a 5-3 record, 3.90 ERA and 1.34 WHIP with 41 strikeouts over 57 2/3 innings.

MLB Betting Trends

Los Angeles

The Angels are 4-0 in their last four Wednesday games. Los Angeles is 0-4 in its last four games versus a starting pitcher with a WHIP greater than 1.30.

The Rangers are 5-0 in their last five games versus a right-handed starter. Texas is 6-2 in its last eight Wednesday games.

Los Angeles has the better pitcher on the mound, but Jurado is coming off a great start and I feel like the Angels might hit an emotional drain tonight after such a challenging 48 hours. I’m going to lean on Texas here as it’s hard to imagine the Angels have a lot of energy left in the tank right now.
