According to oddsmakers at BetNow.eu, Kentucky is the clear favorite, as the Wildcats are getting odds of -8.5 points against LSU. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 149 points. The public betting currently has 59 percent going on LSU on the road. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our College Basketball Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

LSU staying in the SEC hunt

The LSU Tigers are coming off an 83-78 win over Auburn at home on Saturday to move to 9-1 in the SEC. The Tigers are now 19-4 on the season, 5-1 on the road, 13-9-1 against the spread and 14-8 with the over.

The Tigers have one of the better offenses in the country, as they are averaging 83.3 points per game while shooting 47.1 percent as a team. Defensively, LSU is giving up 73.4 points per game while opponents shoot 44.1 percent against them. Tremont Waters has been leading the team with 15.7 points and 6.1 assists per game while Naz Reid is adding 13.9 points and 6.2 rebounds per contest.

Wildcats staying hot

Kentucky is coming off a 71-67 win at Mississippi State on Saturday. The Wildcats have won their last 10 games while covering the spread in eight straight. Kentucky is now 20-3 on the season, 9-1 in the SEC, 13-0 at home, 14-9 against the spread and 14-9 with the under.

The Wildcats have been putting up 78.7 points per game on offense this season while shooting 47.7 percent as a team. Defensively, Kentucky allows just 65.2 points per game while holding opponents to 40.6 percent shooting. PJ Washington is leading the team with 14.2 points and 8.0 rebounds per game while Keldon Johnson averages 13.9 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest.

College Basketball Betting Trends

LSU

The Tigers have covered the spread in six straight road games and they are 9-2-1 ATS in their last 12 conference games.

Kentucky

The Wildcats have covered the spread in seven straight SEC games and in six of their last eight at home.

Prediction:

LSU has posed some problems for Kentucky in the past, but I like the Wildcats in this one. Both teams have the ability to score, but the Wildcats have the defense that the Tigers don’t. LSU is giving up 77 points per game on the road while UK is giving up just 60 per game at home. In the end, I see Kentucky being able to get the stops that LSU won’t.

College Basketball Prediction: Kentucky -8.5
