The Masters is the crown jewel of both golf tournaments and golf betting. The 2021 tournament starts on April 8 where Dustin Johnson will be looking to repeat. He cashed at +800 for bettors at the rescheduled tournament in November 2020.

As Jim Nantz famously said, the Masters is “a tradition unlike any other.” And as we like to say, the Masters is a betting tradition unlike any other. We’ve got your wagers covered from all angles so you can make smarter Masters bets.

Masters odds

One of the great things about this tournament is that you can bet on Masters odds all year long. Dustin Johnson has been the favorite since winning his first Green Jacket in November 2020, but recent hot play from Justin Thomas and Bryson DeChambeau have them both moving up the odds board.

Masters leaderboard

Once you’ve placed your bets, you’ll want to track them. Our favorite place to do that is via the Masters leaderboard at the tournament’s official website.

Masters tee times

Tee times for the 2021 Masters will be announced during Masters week, either Monday, April 5 or Tuesday, April 6. Players can’t be grouped together until then as the official Masters field isn’t set yet.

Masters coverage

One qualm that golf fans have every year is the struggle to watch the Masters, especially early on during the tournament, as TV coverage is limited. But the official website has become an excellent place to stream the Masters and has coverage of featured groups and holes when there is no coverage on television.

Masters TV schedule

CBS has been the official TV broadcaster of the Masters every year since 1956 and continues to televise Rounds 3 and 4. ESPN holds the television rights to Rounds 1 and 2. The exact times for the 2021 TV schedule will be released close to the event.

August National

The Masters is played annually at hallowed Augusta National in Augusta, Ga. One of the most famous courses in the World, Augusta is a 7,768-yard par-72, featuring Ryegrass fairways and Bentgrass greens.

The private course was established in 1933 and began hosting the Masters the following year. It also began hosting the National Women’s Amateur in 2019.

The 2021 payout

The Masters payout hasn’t been announced yet for 2021. The 2020 purse, which was unaltered from 2019, was set at $11.5 million. Dustin Johnson’s 18 percent share last year amounted to $2 million.

The coveted Green Jacket

Money isn’t the only thing that golfers play for at Augusta. There’s also the coveted Masters Green Jacket. This is a tradition that started in 1937 when all Augusta National members wore the jackets at the tournament to make them stand out from the public. It wasn’t until 1949 that the winners began receiving the Green Jacket — and the first one was awarded to Sam Snead.

How to bet on golf

If you’re betting on the Masters, you’ll want to know the basics of how to bet on golf first. The most popular way to bet on golf is by simply picking the winner, which is also referred to as an outright. There are plenty of other ways to wager, however, including top finishes, head-to-head matchups, and plenty of props.

Masters betting sites

You’ll find Masters betting options at pretty much every online sportsbook in the world. Most sportsbooks will allow you to bet on the winner of the next Masters tournament for most of the year, with odds changing throughout the year due to current form and injuries. Once the Masters field is set, sportsbooks will open more betting markets.
