Mavericks vs. Clippers Game 5 Prediction

Mavericks vs. Clippers Game 5, 6/2/21 NBA Playoffs Predictions

The Mavericks and Clippers are all tied up after L.A. took Games 3 and 4 in Dallas. With the series now shifting back to L.A., will the Mavericks cover as a 7-point road dog when the teams meet in Game 5 on Wednesday?

Game Snapshot

533 Dallas Mavericks (+7) at 534 Los Angeles Clippers (-7); o/u 217

10:00 p.m. ET, Tuesday, June 2, 2021

Venue: STAPLES Center, Los Angeles, CA

Dallas Mavericks DFS Notes

Luka Doncic (cervical strain) and Maxi Kleber (right Achilles soreness) are probable for Game 5 on Wednesday vs. the Clippers. Doncic played through the injury in Game 4, as did Kleber, and it looks like that trend will continue. Doncic was in some obvious discomfort on Sunday, but he’s reportedly improved a lot, so perhaps he’ll be able to bounce back from his 9-of-24 shooting performance.

Los Angeles Clippers DFS Notes

Kawhi Leonard was an ultra-efficient 11-of-15 from the floor in Sunday’s blowout of Dallas, going for a full line of 29 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, two steals, two blocks and two triples in 35 minutes. Thanks in big part to Kawhi, this series is now tied 2-2 after the Clips dropped the first two at home. Oddly enough, Dallas dropped their two at home as well, so make that 0-4 for the home teams thus far. If the trend continues, Los Angeles regaining home court advantage with tonight’s victory may not even be good news, but regardless, we’ll see who comes out on top in Game 5 on Wednesday night. Paul George had a big second quarter on his way to 20 points, nine rebounds, three dimes and three triples, while new starter Nicolas Batum had 10 points, five boards, two 3-pointers, two blocks and a playoff career-high four steals (with three of them coming in the first quarter alone).

Mavericks vs. Clippers Playoffs Prediction

The Mavericks are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games in L.A. and are 4-1 against the number in their last five games versus the Clippers overall. They’re also 6-2 against the spread in their last eight road games, are 7-3 against the number in their last 10 games overall and are 4-0 at the betting window in their last four games as a road dog. On the other side, the Clippers are 1-5 against the spread in their last six home games and are 1-4 against the number in their last five games as a favorite.
