Michigan is on a four-game winning streak and has lost just once this season. The Wolverines didn’t play for more than three weeks due to pandemic concerns but returned to action last Sunday against Wisconsin. While they came out looking very rusty in that contest, they turned things around in the second half, outscoring the Badgers 40-20 to grab the road victory.

Ohio State might be the hottest team in the Big Ten right now, having won seven games in a row and going 6-1 ATS over that stretch. That recent winning streak includes impressive road wins over Wisconsin and Iowa.

Both of these schools are very efficient on offense, with the Buckeyes ranking seventh in the country with 112.7 points per 100 possessions, while Michigan ranks 15th with 110.4 points per 100 possessions.

At first glance, defense might appear to be the deciding factor. After all, Michigan is 31st in the nation in defensive efficiency while Ohio State sits just outside the Top 150.

However, home-court advantage for the Buckeyes may neutralize that factor. While the Wolverines shoot a sizzling 51.5 percent from the field at home, that number drops to 46.4 percent on the road. Likewise, the Buckeyes hold foes to 38.2 percent shooting at home, compared to their opponent field goal percentage of 44.7 percent on the road.

Another factor to keep in mind is that Michigan’s leading scorer, Hunter Dickinson, has disappeared in recent weeks. The seven-footer has averaged just 8.2 points per game on 44 percent shooting over his last five contests after putting up 17.5 ppg on 71 percent shooting through the first 11 games of the season.

If Dickinson has hit the freshman wall, that could spell trouble against a team as good as OSU, which is surging on the offensive end of the floor, averaging 81.1 ppg on 49.2 percent shooting over its last seven games.

With Ohio State 5-2 SU and ATS in the last seven meetings between these Big Ten rivals, back them to pull off the win as slim underdogs in Columbus.

PREDICTION: Ohio State ML (+100)

Over/Under Pick

With how hot their offense has looked, the Buckeyes have been a strong Over bet recently. However, Michigan poses a much tougher test for them on the defensive end of the floor.

The Wolverines are holding foes to just 37.7 percent shooting from the field, the second-best number in the country. They have also cashed the Under in six of their last seven games.

The Wolverines are holding foes to 64.9 ppg while the Buckeyes limit opponents to just 63.3 ppg at home. That is due in large part to both of these teams playing at a slow, methodical pace, setting up in the half-court and taking care of the ball. And neither team pressures opposing ball-handlers – both rank near the bottom of the country in opponent turnovers – so expect long possessions from both teams and not many buckets in transition.

The Under has also gone 6-3 in the last nine meetings between these teams. But it’s worth noting that the three games where the total went Over saw 140, 136, and 142 points scored—all much lower than today’s total of 146.5. Back the Under.

PREDICTION: Under 146.5 (-110)
