Twins pound White Sox in finale

Minnesota dominated to the tune of 11-1 Sunday afternoon at Chicago to improve to 64-41 overall and 33-20 on the road. Miguel Sano helped lead the Twins offense as he ended the game 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs. Max Kepler was 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, three runs and two RBIs. Jonathan Schoop went 1-for-5 with a homer and two RBIs. Jorge Polanco finished 2-for-5 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs. Kyle Gibson picked up the win on the mound for Minnesota as he gave up one earned run on seven hits with nine strikeouts and one walk over six innings. Jake Odorizzi gets the start tonight as he enters with an 11-5 record, 3.84 ERA and 1.20 WHIP with 108 strikeouts over 103 innings pitched.

Marlins roll past D-Backs

Miami won three out of four home games in its series versus Arizona including an 11-6 decision Monday night. Miguel Rojas homered for a third straight game to help pace the offense as he went 1-for-4 with the long ball, a walk, two runs and two RBIs. Brian Anderson finished 2-for-5 with a solo homer and two runs scored. Neil Walker ended the game 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, two runs and an RBI. Caleb Smith notched the win as he gave up four earned runs on four hits with nine strikeouts and one walk over seven innings. Zac Gallen draws the start tonight as he comes in with a 1.2 record, 2.76 ERA and 1.23 WHIP with 35 strikeouts over 29 1/3 innings.

MLB Betting Trends

Minnesota

The Twins are 5-1 in their last six series openers. Minnesota is 1-4 in its last five interleague games.

Miami

The Marlins are 5-1 in their last six games overall. Miami is 4-0 in its last four games versus a right-handed starter.

Prediction:

Gallen might be a rookie, but he is highly hyped and coming off a fantastic start at the White Sox. With Miami playing good ball right now and Minnesota having to travel across the country plus with a struggling Odorizzi on the mound, I’m sticking with the hosts in this game.
