Toronto Blue Jays DFS Spin

Reese McGuire went 0-for-3 on Tuesday and is batting .081 for the year. Danny Jansen has batted just .155, so if McGuire were hitting, he’d probably be looking at a lot more playing time. Alas, he’s 3-for-34 with a 9/0 K/BB ratio. If he doesn’t show something this month, he won’t be penciled in for a roster spot again next year.

Miami Marlins DFS Spin

Starling Marte hit a go-ahead homer in the bottom of the eighth to lead the Marlins to a 3-2 win over the Blue Jays on Tuesday. That’s a good way to introduce yourself to your new team. It was only Marte’s third homer this year, but he’s batting .310 and he has a .380 OBP. The Marlins like to run, so Marte probably didn’t lose any fantasy value with the trade from Arizona.

Blue Jays vs. Marlins Betting Prediction

The total for this matchup has already dropped from 8.5 down to 7.5 but I still like the under. For a moment there, the Blue Jays were swinging some hot bats, scoring at least five runs in six straight games. But they only scored three runs last night in Miami and you get the sense that their entire lineup is on the verge of a funk.

Meanwhile, the Marlins went back-to-back games in which they scored seven and five runs, respectively, against the Rays and Mets but only plated three on Tuesday night. They were shut out in back-to-back games by Tampa Bay prior to those seven-run and five-run outputs and now face Hyun-Jin Ryu tonight.

The under is 4-1 in the Marlins’ last five home games and is 5-1 in their last six games against a left-handed starter. Despite getting a low number, I still like the under 7.5 tonight in Miami.
