Canadiens stumble against Penguins

Montreal lost 5-1 at home Saturday night against Pittsburgh to fall to 35-24-7 on the season. The Canadiens allowed three first-period goals and another in the second to fall behind 4-0 before Brendan Gallagher scored his 29th goal of the season to put the hosts on the board 7:20 into the period. It was assisted by Phillip Danault. Pittsburgh added another goal late in the third period to make it a rout. Carey Price surrendered four goals on 24 shots in the losing effort.

Kings double up Blackhawks

Los Angeles broke its 10-game losing streak Saturday with a 6-3 win over Los Angeles to improve to 24-33-8 on the season. Dustin Brown opened the scoring with a power play goal 2:23 in with assists going to Drew Doughty and Jonathan Quick. NHL Betting Trends

The Canadiens are 5-0 in their last five Tuesday games. Montreal is 4-0 in its last four games on two days of rest.

Los Angeles

The Kings are 4-11 in their last 15 Tuesday games. Los Angeles is 9-24 in its last 33 games following a win.

The track record for LA this season suggests it won’t build off the win. Montreal is well-rested and a bit salty from a bad loss. Look for a better effort from Price tonight as the more talented Canadiens take advantage of playing a squad having a miserable season and perhaps feeling a little too good following a nice win.
