Public Betting Trends

According to the latest oddsmakers, Navy is the favorite in this game, as the Midshipmen are getting odds of -2.5 points against Kansas State. The over/under total for the game is listed at 53.5 points. The public betting currently has 52 percent going on Navy as the slight favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NCAAF Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Navy with 10 wins

Navy ended its regular season on a three-game win streak, including a big 31-7 win over Army in their annual clash. The Midshipmen are 10-2 on the season, 9-3 against the spread and 7-5 with the over.

Navy has been led this season by its powerful run game and potent defense. The Midshipmen are allowing just 22.8 points and 326.3 yards per game defensively, while the offense averages 38.6 points and 458.8 yards per contest. Their run game leads the nation with 363.8 yards per contest. Malcolm Perry is leading Navy with 1,804 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns, while throwing for 1,027 yards and six touchdowns. Jamale Carothers added 712 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. Kevin Brennan is leading the defense with 65 tackles and eight sacks.

K-State playing close

Kansas State is coming off back-to-back wins over Texas Tech and Iowa State to end its season. The Wildcats have had five of their last seven games decided by seven points or less. Kansas State is 8-4 on the season, 9-3 against the spread and 8-3-1 with the under.

The Wildcats are a solid defensive team, allowing just 21.5 points and 364.2 yards per game. Their offense is averaging 30.7 points and 376.2 yards per game. Skylar Thompson is leading the team this season with 2,191 passing yards and 12 touchdowns, while rushing for 402 yards and 10 scores. James Gilbert is the leading rusher with 698 yards and six touchdowns. Dalton Schoen is adding 35 receptions for 567 yards and four scores.

College Football Betting Trends

Navy

The Midshipmen are 14-2 with the under in their last 16 neutral site games as a favorite and in 19 of their last 26 games in December.

Kansas State

The Wildcats are 5-1 with the under in their last six games in December and 5-1-1 with the under in their last seven games as an underdog.

Prediction:

This should be a physical football team, as each squad prides themselves on being able to control the line of scrimmage and use their run game to dictate pace of play. The triple option can be difficult to defend and its not something that Kansas State has seen very often. I don’t see Kansas State being able to do much against the Navy defense either. The Midshipmen face a tough schedule of good offensive teams and have been able to contain most of them. I think this game is a going to be similar to the Army/Navy game, with the total going under.

Liberty Bowl Prediction: Navy/Kansas State Under 53.5
