Mets fall flat in first game back

Wilson Ramos went 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs. Robinson Cano ended the game 1-for-4 with a run scored. Jason Vargas took the loss as he allowed six earned runs on five hits with one strikeout and one walk over five innings of work. Noah Syndergaard draws the start tonight for New York as he enters with a 6-4 record, 4.68 ERA and 1.28 WHIP with 101 strikeouts over 105 2/3 innings.

Marlins hit three HRs in win

Miami used the long ball to help it to an 8-4 victory Friday night over New York to improve to 34-55 overall and 16-29 at home. Curtis Granderson and Brian Anderson each helped lead the way for the Marlins as they both went 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk, two runs scored and two RBIs. Garrett Cooper was 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, two runs and two RBIs. Caleb Smith picked up the win as he allowed two unearned runs on three hits over six innings, striking out six and walking five. MLB Betting Trends

New York

The Mets are 4-1 in their last five Saturday games. New York is 4-0 in the last four Syndergaard starts.

Miami

The Marlins are 2-6 in their last eight games overall. Miami is 0-4 in its last four games versus a right-handed starter.

Prediction:

Syndergaard has had an uneven season, but the Mets have been playing well when he’s on the mound and when he is locked in he’s still his old dominant self. He should be able to carve up this Marlins lineup as it will be a much different look than what Vargas offered. New York is having a very underwhelming season, but Miami is still the worse team. Take New York here to even the series.
