The Sooners are surging, having won five games in a row—including three straight victories against ranked opponents in Kansas, Texas and Alabama.

Lon Kruger’s squad is a well-coached group with plenty of experience and depth, and they’ll need it with leading scorer Austin Reaves, and another key player in Alondes Williams, both sidelined due to COVID-19 protocols.

Even without those two starters, the Sooners dispatched No. 10 Alabama on Saturday by a score of 66-61. Oklahoma is efficient on both ends of the court and ranks 25th in the country in adjusted offensive efficiency and 28th in adjusted defensive efficiency, according to KenPom.

As good as the Red Raiders have played at times this season, their recent stretch has been tough. They are coming off a 76-71 win on the road against LSU but needed to go on an improbable 12-0 run in the final minute to pull it off. Prior to that, they had lost back-to-back contests against West Virginia and Baylor.

While the Red Raiders should be able to grab a victory at home against a short-handed Sooners squad tonight, it won’t be easy covering a 7-point spread, especially when they shoot just 42.9 percent from the field at home and have gone 0-7 ATS in their last seven games in Lubbock. Take the underdogs with the points.

Chris Beard’s Texas Tech team is typically known for an extremely slow style of play and this season has been no different, with the Red Raiders ranking 273rd in the country in adjusted tempo. The Red Raiders also hold opponents to just 62.1 ppg, with that number going down to 57 ppg at home.

These two programs have also hit the Under in five straight games in the head-to-head and both have a strong trend of going below the total against quality opposition: The Under is 25-9 in Texas Tech’s last 34 games against teams with a winning SU record, while the Sooners are 22-8 to the Under in their previous 30 contests against winning teams.
