Will the Yankees stave off elimination when they host the Rays at 7:10 p.m. ET on Thursday night? Ryan Thompson will oppose Jordan Montgomery in the pitching matchup, although it figures to be all hands on deck for the Yankees tonight from a pitching standpoint.

Randy Arozarena’s bat stayed white-hot in Wednesday’s game versus the Yankees as he homered and reached base four times in the Rays’ win. Manager Aaron Boone has to be close to putting four fingers up at this point anytime Arozarena strolls to the plate. After singling in his first two plate appearances, Arozarena launched the first pitch Masahiro Tanaka threw in the top of the fifth inning into the left field seats. He also added a walk before the Yanks finally retired him in his final plate appearance of the night. Arozarena has homered in each of the first three games of the ALDS and is now an utterly absurd 12-for-20 this postseason. Half of those hits have gone for extra bases.

Giancarlo Stanton homered for the fifth straight game Wednesday, but it wasn’t enough as the Yankees fell to the Rays. Shane McClanahan was the victim for Stanton’s latest blast, as he took the rookie southpaw over the center field wall for a two-run shot in the eighth inning. Unfortunately for the Yankees, it only cut the Rays’ lead to four and that’s as close as they would get. Stanton’s home runs in five straight games is a Yankees postseason record, and he’s gone deep six times overall. It’s quite an accomplishment, as you might have heard that they’ve played a few postseason games. Stanton also singled in this one and has now reached base 10 times in five games during these playoffs.

Rays vs. Yankees Game 4 Betting Prediction

The Rays are 4-1 in their last five playoff games, are 5-1 in their last six games after scoring five runs or more in their previous game and are 10-3 in their last 13 games when facing a left-handed starter. The Yankees, meanwhile, are now 7-15 in their last 22 games following a loss and are 1-4 in their last five games versus the American League East, which includes a 2-9 record in their last 11 games versus the Rays.
