The struggling Rockets are catching 11 points as a road underdog on Wednesday night in Philadelphia where they’ll visit the 76ers at 7:30 p.m. ET. Is Houston a good bet to cover as a double-digit dog or is there a better play on the board?

Victor Oladipo (right foot strain) is doubtful for Wednesday’s game vs. the 76ers. Oladipo has missed the two past games with the foot issue, and it looks like that number will hit three tomorrow night. John Wall will have the rock in his hands more often with Vic off the floor, while DeMarcus Cousins and Jae’Sean Tate will get a bump in usage. The Rockets haven’t provided a timetable or offered many details at all on Oladipo’s foot injury, but he’s likely going to miss at least another two games with Friday’s matchup with Dallas being the first of a back-to-back set.

Ben Simmons has been more aggressive as a scorer recently, saying, “[A]s long as I can keep doing that … I think it’s scary.” “Honestly, I’ve been working on my mentality, my mental [game], a lot these past few weeks,” Simmons said. “It’s not easy to do that, to change the way you play or certain things in the game that come natural to certain people.” Simmons is coming off a career game with 42 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds vs. the Jazz, in which he attacked the paint at every opportunity. That came without Joel Embiid (back) but he’s scored 18+ points in three straight games and this is a fantastic trend for fantasy purposes.

Rockets vs. 76ers Betting Prediction

The Rockets are just 1-7 against the spread in their last eight trips to Philly and failed to cover in five of the previous seven series meetings between these two teams. Houston is also winless against the spread in its last six games overall, is 0-4 against the number in its last four road games and 0-4 ATS in its last four games as an underdog. The Sixers, meanwhile, have cashed in five of their last six home games and are 4-1 ATS in their last five games as a home favorite.
