Sacramento Kings vs. Boston Celtics, 3/14/19 Predictions & Odds

Two teams that played a wild game last Wednesday in Sacramento will meet on Thursday night when the Celtics host the Kings at 7:35 p.m. ET from TD Garden. Given the Kings’ struggles on the road and the Celtics’ struggles at home, which team is the better bet?

Game Snapshot

563 Sacramento Kings at 564 Boston Celtics

Our NBA Live Odds page pulls spreads and totals from multiple different online sportsbooks so you can compare betting odds to ensure you’re getting the best line.

Public Betting Trends

According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Celtics are 7.5-point favorites to beat the Kings. The total, meanwhile, sits at 226 points and as of this writing, 61% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Celtics to cover the point spread.

Sacramento Kings Fantasy Spin

De’Aaron Fox scored a team-high 23 points in a 121-115 loss to the Wizards on Monday with eight assists, four rebounds, two steals, two triples and six turnovers. That loss bumps the Kings to 4.5 games behind the No. 8 seed (LAC). Sacramento’s playoff chances are fading, but Fox’s fantasy value will be fine as long as they can stay within striking distance. After their next two games vs. Boston and Philly, the schedule does soften up with games against the Bulls, Nets, Mavs and Suns.

Boston Celtics Fantasy Spin

Coach Brad Stevens said Jayson Tatum (shoulder) is fine, and he is listed as probable for Thursday against the Kings. That means he should play on Thursday against the Kings after getting a game off on Monday. The Celtics don’t have a back-to-back set until Mar. 23 and 24, so Tatum sounds like he should be in the lineup until that point.

NBA Betting Trends

Sacramento

The Kings are 1-3-1 against the spread in their last five games overall but are 11-3 at the betting window in their last 14 games coming off a loss.

Boston

The Celtics are 35-16 against the spread in their last 51 home games.

Prediction

The Kings haven’t had much luck winning in Boston, dropping 10 straight dating back to January of 2007. While the Celtics have struggled at home, I trust them more than a Kings squad that has lost 12 of its last 16 games on the road. At some point the Kings hope to get star rookie Marvin Bagley III back for at least one of the two trip-ending games, but if he doesn’t play I don’t think Sacramento has enough firepower to match a Boston offense that, when on, is lethal. With Tatum back for the Celtics, I like the host to get the job done against the spread.

Thursday NBA Prediction: Boston Celtics -7.5
