St. Louis Cardinals Fantasy Spin

Paul Goldschmidt supplied a go-ahead three-run homer Wednesday in the Cardinals’ 6-5 win over Pittsburgh. Goldschmidt only logged one hit Wednesday, but he made it count, booming a three-run shot to give the Cards a 6-4 lead in the seventh. He also drew a second-inning walk, but nothing came of it. Goldschmidt’s debut season in St. Louis hasn’t gone as planned, though he seems to have found his power stroke again, contributing four long balls in his last nine contests.

Cincinnati Reds Fantasy Spin

Nick Senzel tallied two hits Wednesday in a 5-2 loss to Chicago. The rookie was responsible for two of the Reds’ seven hits Wednesday including his 15th double of the year. Senzel gave Cincinnati its first run of the afternoon in the eighth with an RBI single off Brandon Kintzler. The 24-year-old exited with a minor hamstring injury late in Wednesday’s defeat, but it shouldn’t keep him from suiting up Thursday versus St. Louis

MLB Betting Trends

St. Louis

The Cardinals have won four out of their last five games overall.

The Reds have won four out of their last five home games versus an opponent with a losing road record.

The Cardinals have won 13 of their last 17 games at the Great American Ballpark and are 23-11 in their last 34 games versus the Reds overall. They’ve also won nine of Dakota Hudson’s last 10 starts and are 5-1 in his last six outings on the road. Meanwhile, the Reds are just 2-6 in their last eight games and have dropped four of Tanner Roak’s last five starts at home. There’s good value in the Cardinals’ moneyline odds.
