According to our MLB Public Betting Chart page, 69% of the betting tickets are on the Cardinals to beat the Mariners on the moneyline.

St. Louis Cardinals Fantasy Spin

Jose Martinez went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs in the Cardinals loss to the Mariners on Tuesday. Martinez walloped a towering fly ball to left field off Mariners opener Matt Carasiti in the first inning and followed it up with an opposite-field blast off lefty reliever Wade LeBlanc in the sixth. It was his first multi-homer effort of the season and only the fourth time he’s accomplished the feat in his career. The 30-year-old slugger has turned in a virtual carbon copy of his full-season breakout campaign from last year, hitting .285/.348/.421 with 28 runs scored, 30 RBI and one stolen base in 244 plate appearances. He has a shot at eclipsing the 20-homer plateau if he continues to garner everyday at-bats in St. Louis.

Seattle Mariners Fantasy Spin

Dee Gordon (quad) went 1-for-3 with an RBI, a walk, a stolen base, and a run scored in his return to action Tuesday against the Cardinals. Gordon missed Sunday’s series finale against the Astros with a minor right quad issue, but he looked healthy and spry in Tuesday night’s series opener versus St. Louis. The 31-year-old is up to 15 steals on the season.

MLB Betting Trends

St. Louis

The Cardinals are 11-4 in their last 15 road games versus an opponent with a losing home record.

Seattle

The Mariners are 5-1 in their last six home games versus an opponent with a losing road record.

Prediction:

The Cardinals stink right now. They finally ended a five-game losing streak with a come-from-behind victory on Sunday afternoon in San Diego, only to lose last night in their first game in Seattle. They’re now 1-6 in their last seven games overall and 0-4 in their last four games when facing a right-handed starter. St. Louis has dropped four of Adam Wainwright’s last five starts and is 0-4 in his last four outings on the road, too. Meanwhile, the Mariners have won five of their last six games at home and are 4-1 in their last five home games versus a right-handed starter.

The Pick: Seattle Mariners +105
