Suns vs. Pelicans, 2/3/21 NBA Fantasy News & Betting Predictions

The second game of Wednesday night’s NBA double header on ESPN features the Suns and Pelicans, who are just 3-7 in their last 10 games and find themselves as home dogs tonight. What’s the best bet?

Game Snapshot

575 Phoenix Suns (-3.5) at 567 New Orleans Pelicans (+3.5); o/u 222.5

9:30 p.m. ET, Wednesday, February 3, 2021

Venue: Smoothie King Arena, New Orleans, LA

Phoenix Suns DFS Spin

Devin Booker (left hamstring strain) is listed as probable for Wednesday’s game against the Pelicans. In his first game back after missing the prior four, Booker played 31 minutes in Monday’s win over the Mavericks. He should be fine to take on a similar workload Wednesday, so fantasy managers who have him rostered need to make sure that Booker is in their lineups.

New Orleans Pelicans DFS Spin

Zion Williamson blocked a career-high three shots on Monday, adding 17 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals in 31 minutes. The Pelicans needed rim protection without Steven Adams (calf), and Zion did his best in a tough 118-109 home loss vs. the Kings. Although he didn’t block a shot in three straight games last season, he’s now done it in five straight. His five combined steals and blocks tonight also tied a career high, and the defensive uptick is massive news for his fantasy appeal. If he managers to improve his 66.7% free throw shooting, the sky is the limit — he took a step in that direction by going 4-of-4 at the stripe tonight.

Suns vs. Pelicans Betting Prediction

The Suns covered in five of their previous seven trips to New Orleans and are 4-1 in their last five games versus the Pelicans overall. They’re also 11-4 against the spread in their last 15 road games, are 14-5 at the betting window in their last 19 games coming off an ATS win and have covered in 19 of their last 27 games overall. On the other side, the Pelicans are 2-8 against the spread in their last 10 games playing on one day of rest, are 2-5 against the number in their last seven games overall and are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games following a loss.
