The 2021 WGC-Workday Championship at The Concession is being played at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida. The 550-acre course was co-designed by Jack Nicklaus and Tony Jacklin and opened in 2006. The course, a 7,474-yard, par-72, got its name from Nicklaus’ gesture at the 1969 Ryder Cup, when the golf legend conceded a putt to Jacklin to lead to the first tie in the event’s history. The move was known as “the concession.”
There wasn’t a WGC-Workday Championship at The Concession in 2020. This year’s event replaces the WGC-Mexico Championship, which was won last year by Patrick Reed, who shot 18-under. The event was relocated from Mexico as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The WGC Workday Championship purse is $10.5 million, with the winner pocketing $1.82 million. That’s the same amount Reed took home for winning the 2020 WGC-Mexico Championship.
The most popular way to bet on golf is by simply picking the winner, which is also referred to as an outright. There are plenty of other ways to wager, however. Some of the more popular markets include head-to-head betting, where sportsbooks pair up two golfers and you simply choose who you think will have the lower score over the course of the weekend or for one round only. Similarly, there are also 3-way betting markets (choose the best golfer among three choices) and group betting (choose the best golfer amongst a group of players).
Other ways to wager include Top-5/Top-10/Top-20 finish, top golfer by nationality, to make the cut/to not make the cut, and the leader after each round. Then, of course, there’s the popular prop bet of whether or not there will be a hole in one at the tournament.
With PGA betting growing in popularity, most online sportsbooks and casinos will offer golf odds for the WGC-Workday Championship at The Concession. Check out the best sportsbooks available where you live and see what PGA Tour odds they have available.
