Will the Houston Astros pick up another sizable win over the Miami Marlins when the two close out their series at 12:10PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at, the Astros are the road favorite tonight, as they are getting odds of -160 to win, while the Marlins are listed with a money line of +145 to prevail. The over/under total for the game is listed at 8.5 runs.

The pitching matchup today has Lance McCullers Jr. (3-1, 2.98 ERA) on the mound for the Astros to face Jose Urena (1-1, 1.98) of the Marlins. Urena has been a great arm for the Marlins this year, but he only has two starts. Most of his work has been in relief. His two starts have seen him go 12 innings, allowing two earned runs and seven hits. He has four walks and six strikeouts in those starts as well. McCullers has not allowed an earned run in his last two starts, going 13 innings with 11 strikeouts and just two walks.

Houston took the first game of the series on Monday night, 7-2. They then followed it up with a 12-2 thrashing on Tuesday. The road team has won six straight in this series, dating back to 2012. Houston is now 28-12 overall and 14-6 on the road while Miami is 14-24 overall and 6-13 on the road.

Houston dominated Tuesday’s game, scoring 3 runs in the first inning and never looking back. The Astros ran Tom Koehler out after three innings. He allowed eight runs on seven hits with four walks. Dallas Keuchel didn’t have his best, allowing two runs over five innings, but it was good enough for what the team needed. Brian McCann had two hits and drove in four runs while Jake Marisnick had three hits and four RBI.

Bet on Astros vs. Marlins

Houston has posted 19 runs in two games against the Marlins. While Urena has good numbers, it’s to limited innings. I don’t think he will last long, if even pitching well. McCullers should be able to continue to limit the Miami hitters and give his team ample opportunity to get a lead. Houston’s playing at a very high level, so ride the hot streak against a bad team.
