Yankees vs. Blue Jays, 9/7/20 MLB Predictions - Montgomery vs. Ryu

The struggling Yankees will look to turn things around on Monday evening when they visit their AL East counterparts, the Blue Jays at 6:37 p.m. ET. That said, is Toronto the better play for bettors tonight with Hyun-Jin Ryu on the hill?

Game Snapshot

915 New York Yankees (+130) at 916 Toronto Blue Jays (-140); o/u 9

Jordan Montgomery (L) vs. Hyun-Jin Ryu (L)

New York Yankees DFS Spin

Miguel Andujar had three hits in a loss to the Orioles on Sunday. All three hits were a single. He was the only Yankees’ hitter who was able to get a knock against Dean Kremer, who dominated in his first ever MLB game. Andujar is still hitting just .220/.273/.268 on the season, but the 25-year-old is more than capable of going on a hot streak to end this truncated season.

Toronto Blue Jays DFS Spin

Rowdy Tellez homered and picked up three hits on Sunday against the Red Sox. Tellez took Robinson Leyer deep in the sixth inning to center, and it went an estimated 419 feet. The burly DH/first baseman now has homered eight times this year, and he’s plated 21 runs in 33 games. Those numbers along with a slash of .295/.361/.562 have made him an excellent option for fantasy players who invested in Tellez this summer.

Yankees vs. Blue Jays Labor Day Prediction

Granted, they’re coming off a series against Boston’s awful pitching but the Blue Jays are swinging some hot bats right now. That should continue tonight against the Yankees and Montgomery, who is coming off a rough start versus the Rays earlier this week. New York is scuffling offensively and overall. The Yankees have dropped five of their last six games, are 2-9 in their last 11 road matchups and are winless in their last four tries against a left-handed starter. Ryu has been in excellent form for his new team, posting a 3-1 record and a 2.51 ERA with a 1.09 WHIP over his eight starts for the Blue Jays. He also has 48 strikeouts in 43 innings of work and is facing a depleted Yankees lineup that was just held in check by Baltimore’s suspect pitching staff.
